Manifesto of Progressive Josephites







Dear Josephites,
We are pleased to introduce ourselves as a Group of Josephites committed to the cause of Connecting every Josephite who passed out from St. Joseph’s Academy Dehradun in the past 76 years. We call ourselves
The Progressive Josephites.
 The Progressive Josephites is a Team of 10 individuals from different vocations and age groups; who come to you with a Motto & a Vision:
Connecting 76 years Success
Vision 100

Committed to the cause of Josephites, with a mission to connect the Josephites across the globe for you. We can achieve this mission for you but only through you.

Our Objectives are:
1.     To Develop the Fellowship amongst the Josephites across the globe.
a.   To get the Association registered on a national scale.
b.    To increase the membership of the organization from the current strength and at least doubling it by the end of the year 2013.

c.     To build an Association which ensures Transparency and accountability.
d.   To propagate and promote a value system, which is the inheritance of every Josephite.
e.     To create a Comprehensive Data Base to ensure connectivity of all Josephite across the world.

2.   To encourage Growth and Success through Social Brotherhood and Community Services.
a.   To have Successful Josephites, talk to Josephites on issues relating to Career, Entrepreneurship, Knowledge Base, Growth, Technology,  Opportunities of the day etc.
b.    To build a system which creates a process of support to needy Josephites or the families of those who have left us during the Journey.
c.     To ensure other community Service activities from time to time or support a cause.
d.   To ensure support to the Josephites currently studying in the school in matters of career and growth or any other areas where support is needed.

3.   To Encourage Sharing of the Knowledge of the years and the concepts of the day. We propose:
a.   To build a Think Tank of knowledge and concepts from the Josephites to be shared for the benefit of the Josephites across the Globe.
b.    To build an “Ask Me Blog” which ensures connect with Josephites Mentors from Various Fields of Art, Culture, Heritage, Industry, Business, Profession, Industry etc.

4.   To further the Association.
a.   To build chapters across the globe to ensure more and more Josephites are connected to each other and the family grows.
b.    To ensure independent functioning of each of the chapters, under the guidelines provided but the main Alumni Body.
c.     To introduce a Defence Services Chapter to cater to all the Gallant Josephites Defence Officers.
d.   To introduce a special Honorary package for the Senior Josephites who have achieved the Diamond Jubilee of life and for those Josephites who have achieved laurels and brought proud to St. Joseph’s Academy.
e.     To ensure rightful justice to Josephites who have paid their membership subscription but are not listed on the records of SJA Alumni Association.
f.     To hold “Meets” and “Fellowship” events at different locations besides the “Annual Alumni Meet” at Dehradun; to increase interaction among the Josephites.

5.   Other Objectives
a.   To ensure a preference for our Lady Josephite’s, in view of the opinions expressed by the house in AGM 2010.
b.    To create a yellow pages of the Josephites to ensure more business opportunities between the Josephites.
c.     To launch a Job information portal; which enlists all job Opportunities in organization Owned/ Managed by Josephites in various Sectors.
d.  To make efforts to launch Josephite's Discount cards and pick up beneficial deals for the Josephites once the strength of Josephites increase substantially.

To the above causes we the The Progressive Josephites join our hands and commit ourselves to the cause of the Josephites and for the Josephites.

We pledge to build an Accountable and Transparent Alumni Association.

Social Perspective
·         A regular blood donor since 1982, have donated blood 51 times.
·         Been the Chairman of a Social Club Round Table Indian twice and also served on it Area and National Board. The Dehradun Round Table renovated 11 Schools at Dehradun at a cost of Rs.14.00 lacs.
·         Was the Co-leader of the Wheels of Friendship Tour, a Bicycle tour of Netherlands, we achieved 1800 KM of cycling and generated Euros 1,20,000 for the Freedom Through Education Project
·         Been the President of Khatri Sabha, Dehradun, under which we have provided scholarships to over 900 needy and deserving children.
·          Founder trustee of Wellness Foundation for Children; and NGO involved in making a home for the homeless and parentless Children.
Hobbies and Interests
Singing, Reading ( Theories, Biographies and Mythology), Dancing, Trekking,  Travelling, Sketching Carry Catchers and Cycling.
Achievements
·         Awarded 4 awards in Recitation and impromptu Subjective writing.
·         Represented Punjab University in Inter University  Sports meet, stood 1st  in Cycling in 1982 and 1983.
·         Awarded the best Project Profile at DIMS.
About me
A committed Doonite and Josephite, my love for both the School and the City is eternal. A non-political person who is frank straight forward and follow a strict value system, sometimes taken blunt and rude. I would rather accept my mistakes and face the consequences, than, make a poker face and hide.
A family oriented person, relationships and friendships mean a world to me. Committed to the cause of children; my biggest passion always wish to adopt a few.
Why I Want to be on SJA Alumni Managing Committee
I HAVE HAD A VISION OF AN ALUMNI ASSOCIATION WHICH WORKS WITH EVERY JOSEPHITE TO MAKE A WORLD OF THE JOSEPHITES, WHERE JOSEPHITES STAND BY JOSEPHITES AND WITH JOSEPHITES IN ALL TIMES. THIS IS THE DREAM I WANT TO FOLLOW.

·         Starting as Medical Representative in Boots Pharmaceutical Ltd raised to be Marketing Manager in Manav International Ltd. posted in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan managing CIS .
·         With a desire to serve motherland return to India as Manager in Cipla Ltd.
·         As Entrepreneur Launched   Good (Health) Pharma - my own enterprise.

·         Maternal Grandfather Late Major H S Gurung , MBE  (Member of British Empire)  award.
·          Grandfather Late Shri Ratan Mall Indian Army Prison of War in World War II and Martyr for motherland. Independence and Pacific award.
·         Father Late Shri I S Mall, a honest Govt. Forest Ranger who laid down his life fighting forest mafia in his young age.
·         Mother Smt. Sarita Mall, who took up responsibility of family and job and retired as AO forest.
·         Wife Mrs. Sheetal Mall, MA, B Ed managing a Girls Hostel.
Social Perspective
·         Was always in forefront whenever call from SJA, Alma mater, is it candle light protest march attended by huge Josephites   or meeting the Hon’ble Governor M Alva for SJA Boundary wall issue.
·          Calling the press conference of parent body in support of school when outside group agitated inside school against opening of book store inside school and many other times when call by Patron Bro George.
·         Working with NCC, Civil Defence, awarded best sector warden by District magistrate and SSP.
·          SOS - an NGO as Secretary for traffic awareness and serving poor, old, and ill.
·         Active in plantation of trees with Green Force. Awarded many times.

About me
I am an easy going person with a prospective of giving total freedom to all working in your team, but also making sure that no one deciphers from the Goal. Have the niche to interact with all kind of people and in my profession deal with all Levels on day to day basis right from a labor in the farms to CEO’s / M.D’s of the corporate world. The love for school and the love for Doon are both embedded into my system and there is not a single day when I do not think about both. Would now love to contribute towards the school and also towards Doon by joining the AA in the EC. Have been instrumental in joining the “virtual world” (Net Friends) and the “actual world” of SJA AA in the last 3 years and have enjoyed every bit of it, right from its inception.
